Jar Testing Class (On-Site)

Jar Testing (On-Site)

The Jar Testing course is an on-site, facility-hosted training designed to help operators understand, perform, and apply jar testing as a practical decision-making tool in water treatment. Rather than teaching jar testing in a classroom setting, this course is taught using the host facility’s source water, treatment chemicals, and operating conditions, allowing operators to see real results that directly apply to their system.

By conducting the training on-site, operators gain hands-on experience running jar tests, interpreting outcomes, and adjusting chemical dosing based on actual data. Facilities benefit from improved treatment understanding, more confident operational decisions, and clearer insight into how raw water conditions and chemical changes impact finished water quality.

Course Highlights

  • Purpose and fundamentals of jar testing in water treatment

  • Understanding coagulation, flocculation, and settling processes

  • Preparing stock solutions and performing dosing calculations

  • Setting up and conducting jar tests using facility source water

  • Observing floc formation, settling characteristics, and clarity

  • Sampling and testing jar results

  • Interpreting data to support chemical dose adjustments

  • Applying jar test results to day-to-day treatment operations

This course emphasizes hands-on participation and real-world discussion, giving operators the opportunity to work through treatment scenarios they encounter at their facility. Following the class, WtrWrx provides a summary report with observations and practical recommendations to help facilities apply what was learned and support next steps.

Operators earn CEU hours while facilities gain actionable insight that supports treatment optimization, chemical efficiency, and consistent water quality.

Delivery: On-site, facility-hosted
Ideal for: Water treatment operators, lead operators, supervisors, and small system operators
